Arrival & Transfer

Linguis' Accommodation Agent will welcome you at the airport. Just in case you cannot find your representative, wait beside the car rental shop in the Arrival Hall until they find you. If you need help at the airport or anywhere else while you are studying at Linguis you can call 027 438 9422 for help. The Accommodation Agent will also help you set up your own local bank account, a telephone account, show you how to use the local transport system, and so on.

Accommodation

Our Accommodation Agent or your host Homestay family will take you to your chosen accommodation and introduce you to your new home. If you have chosen flatting accommodation, they will help you check-in and make sure you are really comfortable.

Getting to and from the College

The location maps on the Locations Page of our website show where our campuses are located.

If you are staying in a Homestay, your host will bring you to school and show you how to get home by public transport. If you are staying in a Student Residence or Backpacker Hostel you will receive easy directions and a map showing the route to school. If you need help please call Linguis International Auckland (09) 948 4854 or Christchurch (03) 341 7122.

Taking the bus? Cool. Now it's even better to be a student, because Maxx, the main bus company in Auckland offers a whopping 40% off a ten-trip card for students; that means you've got extra cash for coffee after class! Check Maxx's website for more information in the Useful Links.

Your First Day

Linguis International's Welcome and Orientation begins at 9.30am on your first day of study. At school, friendly Linguis staff are waiting to welcome you. You will see the school, meet teachers and new friends before taking a simple English Assessment to place you in your class. The Director of Studies is available to discuss your Individual Study Plan (ISP) or review your class level at any time throughout your study at Linguis. If you need any help with anything at all, Linguis staff are available to assist you.
