Tell me about Auckland
Known as the City of Sails, Auckland has the Hauraki Gulf and the Pacific Ocean to the West, and the Tasman Sea to the East. The beautiful Manukau Harbour is positively alive with sailboats, yachts, and ships.
Step off the harbour and into the bustling metropolis that is Auckland. The Super City is vibrant with high-street shopping, malls, movie theatres, the famous Sky City Casino, and chic central business district are all nearby. Also a city of many faces, there are many new experiences and sights waiting to be discovered in North, South, East, West, and Central Auckland.
How's the weather?
Auckland enjoys a mild oceanic climate. The average temperature in the summertime (December, January, February) is 23 degrees. In the winter months (June, July, August,) the average temperature is 14 degrees. While one of the sunniest regions in all of New Zealand, Auckland also receives high levels of rainfall throughout the year. Despite being such a bustling city, a brilliant night sky view of Orion's Belt, the Big Dipper, and other constellations are clearly visible most nights.

Tell me about Christchurch
Right in the heart of Canterbury, Christchurch, the Garden City, is well-known for its southern hospitality. The Pacific Ocean sprawls out in front of the city and its diverse suburbs. The garden city is also New Zealand's second-largest, and is populated by kind, determined, and hard-working individuals.
Every year the city hosts major events, and remains New Zealand's gateway to the South Island, both in tourism and imported goods, through Lyttleton Harbour.
How's the weather?
Weather in Christchurch is mostly dry. The climate is considered oceanic. The average temperature in the summertime (December, January, February) is 22 degrees. There's no better time to visit Christchurch's many beaches. In the winter months (June, July, August,) the average temperature is 11 degrees, though often drops below 0 degrees on winter nights. Fortunately most homes have a heat pump or spare hot water bottles.
